"I hearby present to [insert Malachab's leader here] the Stuff Medal, for reasons." -Ashton Mercer
Lengthy diatribes are the Ministry of State's preferred means of diplomacy, since hard power projection is generally frowned upon, and ruins potential weapons contracts.
Cocaine is a pretty hard drug.
I could understand if you meant opium or something, but cocaine is pretty far up there.
Don't worry. It's heavily regulated. Small amounts of it are added to drinks for added energy effects.
How does hard power or lengthy diatribes ruin weapon contracts?
Hey guys. Returning member here. Glad to be part of Ainur and looking forward to bringing our region unparalleled glory!
Welcome back! Were you a user on the forums?
Small traces of poison is added to your drinks by Escanthean agents. Sleep now, Ashton, sleeeeeeeeppppp........
*poison-induced accidental drug trip ensues*
Hard power projection tends to lead to resentment of the power in question, dissatisfaction as to the relative state of affairs, and a desire to discontinue future weapons purchases.
A crying shame for both parties, since BP State Arms is a world leader in both quality and quantity of weaponry, and for personal weapons, our many boutique gunsmiths are prepared for any custom requests.
Lengthy diatribes, on the other hand, lull people into a lovely state of suggestible drowsiness, and allow for much more favorable terms than otherwise might be likely.
Hey guys, I'm sorry for my EXTREME inactivity. I'm going to try to get this account up and running and get involved more :)
Hey, Escanthea just passed out... Is he okay? I think he might have accidentally poisoned his own drinks.
Ah. I see. Well, I'm not good at lengthy diatribes unless I actually have something to talk about, but would you like to buy Thalasian weapons?
Alright, sounds good! Get on the forums to get started!
Guess how my nation's name is pronounced.
Th ala suss
I wonder how one gets into the Anumia family...
Wrong!
talasus?
Guess again.
Thal-a-sus?
Why is the chief justice position vacant?
It was vacant pending the selection of a new CJ. Actually that's just happened and our Steward has been selected to fill the position. Now we're looking for a new Steward :P
That would depend largely on their ability to fit an operational niche better than an existing weapon, or create a new operational niche entirely.
'Better' is evaluated on a variety of factors, depending on the specific use. Weight or recoil are obvious concerns for man-portable weapons that are much less so with vehicle-mounted weapons, though they can still be factors; for example, high recoil on a tank gun might lead to the need to resight after every round, which would be acceptable in an assault gun or tank destroyer, but not in an MBT, and high weight will often need a very good transmission, powerplant, and suspension, or risk immobility, and consequently uselessness, on the battlefield.
The Ministry of War takes our materiel concerns very seriously.
Nonetheless, we welcome bids by any contractors whenever they have anything that might be of particular interest.
Well, we have one of the largest manufacturing sectors in the world as well as one of the highest weaponization rates. So, you can pick your poison, I suppose. What is your military's need right now? Inexpensive and capable air superiority weapons? Infantry weapons with better reliability and accuracy? More advanced naval technology?
You guys are focusing on the wrong side of my name. Sure, the true pronunciation is completely contrived, but I still want someone to guess it.
