How do you get more people, economy etc.?

You get more people the longer you stay in the game.
Everything else depends on how you answer the issues you'll receive up to two times a day (depending on your settings). But be aware that any choices you make will almost certainly have unintended and ironic consequences.

(Btw this is the same player as -louisistan-)

Go to your nation's homepage, click on 'Analysis' symbol, then in the top right corner you can see all the categories and how your nation scores.

Please pardon my not messaging sooner - my nation was undergoing some changes - I have arrived from a region that was undergoing some very drastic changes in organization. I am not sure if there are rules here for specific nation types or the like, but it certainly looked inviting enough.

Did you come from the Internationale? They were undergoing changes when I came here. As for your second question, I'm almost positive there are none of the sort. There are rules for this region, but not rules that you must follow if you're a certain type of nation.
