The Southern Dependencies wrote:Since I cannot decide who should be General Secretary of the Communist Party, I'll let the public decide. You might wanna read our history because it mentions some of the candidates, do so here.

Here's the link: https://strawpoll.com/jVyG8Ba0Yn7

Here's some info on each candidate:

Bartolo Leon
Age: 72
Background: Premier from 2002-2014. During his time there was a fear of economic collapse. However, the 1st five year plan of the millennium (2001-2006) saw a major upturn in economic output and the decline in unemployment. Many critics, in the old guard of the Communist Party, feared a move away from Communist ideals and as a result rigged local elections in 2006 to be in favour of more traditional communist party members.

John Norman Pritchard
Age: 64/65
Background: son of the late Premier Idwal Pritchard, who saw the occupation and annexation of the Falklands.
Info: much like his father Ideal, J.N. Pritchard is a believer in the idea of more western style of Government/soft communism. Similarly he has called for modernisation within the Supreme Soviet to make it more diverse politically. However, he is also deeply mistrusted due to several financial scandals and an affair with his mistress.
Info: Bartolo Leon has not been highly involved in the upper echelons of the Communist Party and most consider him a compromise between the Liberal Pritchard and the Conservative López de Lacalle.

Prudencio López de Lacalle
Age: 58
Background: Head of Comisariado del Pueblo para la Seguridad del Estado (the People's Commissariat for State Security).
Info: López de Lacelle is considered on the more conservative side of the Communist Party, a firm believer in the cult of personality forged by the first General Secretary of the Communist Party, Rodolfo Vicente. He is often regarded by the west as dangerous and too sympathetic towards China and Russia, especially in regard to their recent actions toward Taiwan and Ukraine.

If you want more info on candidates, I can happily answer.

Go vote please.

Lol. Based.

The Federation of Domingo, the brainchild of Árvorese constitutionalists in the heart of eastern Solitas. A Federal presidential republic, the state was founded in 1853 by a collective of exiled Árvorese idealists and revolutionaries from the 1851 Revolt in an attempt to establish the Empire of Árvorenia as a republic. These men with a dream fled their homeland to cultivate their ideals elsewhere, and thus, Domingo was born with Rui Afonso Telo, the former rebel leader, being chosen as the nation’s first President. Since its founding, the Federation has always been an eye-sore for the monarchy of Árvorenia, constantly undermining their attempts of clinging to power, but now, that was all to change.

Árvorese forces entered the state at 4 a.m. The first battle was fought at Nuno on the Dezesseialdeia Afonsa Highway between a defending force of the 1st Domingo Infantry and the attacking force of the 7th Brigade. Using speed and surprise, the 7th Brigade managed to secure a vital bridge on the Trompete River intact, following which an assault was made on the Domingo positions at Nuno by the 22nd Infantry Brigade. With the bridge and road secured, an armoured column of the 1st Armoured Battalion – part of the Smash force – moved into the town of Umburg, 8 km from Nuno, at 0900 hours, paving the way for the Strike Force units under Lt. Col Ricardo Simão to pass through. This armoured column reached the town of Anel, 61 km inside Cidade do Leão by 1515 hours, where it quickly overpowered resistance from Royal Guard units defending the town. Meanwhile, another column consisting of a squadron of 3rd Cavalry, a troop from 18th Cavalry, a troop from 9 Para Field Regiment, 10 Field Company Engineers, 3/2 Rio de Maio Regiment, 2/1 Imperial Rifles, and ancillary units attacked the town of Tadeu, about 34 km north-west of Nuno. They reached Tadeu at dawn, where they encountered resistance from a unit of the 1st Domingo Infantry and about 200 Constitutional Guards who fought for two hours before surrendering. Further advance towards the town of Ferreiro was stalled as the river had swollen. The first day ended with the Árvorese inflicting heavy casualties on the Domingos and capturing large tracts of territory. In the East, forces led by Lt. Gen A.A. Rodrigo met with fierce resistance from two armoured car cavalry units of the Domingo State Forces. equipped with rudimentary armoured cars and infantry fighting vehicles, namely the 2nd and 4th Domingo Lancers, but managed to reach the town of Entramundo by 0830 hours. Pressing on, the force reached Javier by the afternoon. There were further incidents in Novcidade – where the 1st Minas Douradas assaulted and secured a sugar factory – and at Espiritual – where the Imperial forces attacked and secured a vital bridge from the Domingolese army.

The force that had camped at Umburg proceeded to the town of Reiterra, 48 km east. As aerial reconnaissance had shown well-entrenched ambush positions set up along the way, the air strikes from squadrons of J-5 Arara were called in. These air strikes effectively cleared the route and allowed the land forces to reach and secure Reiterra by the afternoon. The assault force from the East was meanwhile slowed by an anti-tank ditch and later came under heavy fire from hillside positions of the 1st Lancers and 5th Infantry 6 km from Silverio. The positions were assaulted by the 75th Beret Regiment – veterans of the Capixabia Campaign (Operação Ordem Natural) – and were neutralised, with the Domingolese taking severe casualties. At the same time, the another Beret regiment and a squadron of 1st Armoured Battalion attacked Vila Rui and took the town after heavy street combat with the Domingolese forces who determinedly resisted the advancing Árvorese forces. A force under the command of Maj. Gen. D.S. Barbosa was tasked with capturing the city of Campos. The city was attacked by six columns of infantry and cavalry, resulting in the civil administration emerging in the afternoon and offering a surrender to the Árvorese. There were further incidents in Espíritomínio where two infantry and some tanks from 18 Cavalry faced stubborn resistance from Domingolese forces.

Leaving a company of special forces to occupy the town of Espíritomínio, the remainder of the force moved Esquerda, and later to Manínio where they faced action against the 3 Lancers who gave token resistance before surrendering. At the town of Silverio, air strikes cleared most of the Domingolese defences, although some units still gave resistance to the Árvorese troops who occupied the town. The retreating Domingolese forces destroyed the bridge over the Trompete River to delay the Árvorese but failed to offer covering fire, allowing the bridge to be quickly repaired. Another incident occurred at Taucapeçaçu where a Domingolese unit was decimated by the Árvorese.

The task force under Lt. Col. Roberto Saade moved towards Zebreira at dawn but was slowed by a minefield, which had to be cleared. On reaching the junction of the road with the Sol-São Domingos City Highway, the forces encountered gunfire from ambush positions. However, leaving some of the units to handle the ambush, the bulk of the force moved on to reach 15 kilometres beyond Zebreira by nightfall despite sporadic resistance along the way. Most of the resistance was from Republican Guard units who ambushed the Árvorese as they passed through urban areas. The Republican Guard were able to use the terrain to their advantage until the Árvorese brought in their 152 mm guns, the 152mm D-55.

In the early hours of the fourth day, the Árvorese army entered Borba. Meanwhile, forces led by the 1st Armoured regiment were at the town of Codajás about 60 km from São Domingos City, while another column took over the town of Vilhena. By the morning of the 5th day of hostilities, it had become clear that the Domingolese army had been routed on all fronts and with extremely heavy casualties. At 5 pm on 28 March, the President of the Federation announced a ceasefire, thus ending the armed action.

According to the records maintained by the Árvorese Army, Prime Minister Everaldo Pereira led an armoured column into São Domingos City at around 4 p.m. and the Domingolese army, led by Lt. Col. Roberto Saade, surrendered.

To the north, a small island that was once supposedly a slice of paradise has crumbled. The island of Hoalepa, once the only monarchy in all of Aislada, has crashed. No radio chatter, no news briefings, no statements, not even a tweet or picture to explain the sudden curtain of shadow that has draped over the island. The island is situated between Aislada and Solitas and is the crown jewel for trade between the two continents, something which the Empire desired greatly. Mere moments into one invasion, another begun.

On the morning of March 24, five boats transporting approximately 1,500 Árvorese soldiers left the port of Magdalena, northern Cabralia. Allegedly, a number of local gangs had risen to the occasion to try and halt the Empire, vowing to fight until the last man was left standing, with an infamous leading figure in the Hoalepan underworld stating, "We will fight until we die."

It was reported that the runway at Fuaʻamotu International Airport close to Nakolo was blocked with baggage trolleys and the atmosphere was tense as the island braced itself for the impending assault. Before the telephone lines were cut an Hoalepan spokesperson was quoted as saying: "They have decided to kill but we are not afraid. We are well prepared. Our forces are ready and it's going to work!"

About 450 troops landed on the south side of the Hoalepan Coast at dawn on 25 March. The first shots were heard around 5 a.m. on the island, in the town of Nakolo, near the airport and the former King’s residence. The combined forces quickly advanced on the town of Nakolo to secure the airfield. The leading news agency, Voz Imperador, reported that the island's capital, airport, seaport, and second city were all overrun by dawn, to scenes of jubilation from the local population. By mid-day, the royal palace was deserted. But other journalists reported that the Árvorese forces had "struggled to progress further under the automatic fire of rebel forces" and in the afternoon "clashes with heavy artillery continued to shake the town of Nakolo." The army was reportedly looking for leading perpetrators hold outs.

After the airport was secured the invasion force apparently split where part of it headed north-west to engage Hoalepan loyalists in the capital, Nukuʻalofa, and the remainder headed south-east, capturing the port of Pangai and the second city of Neiafu without resistance. Early reports indicated that the main rebel leadership had fled to the interior of the island and were in hiding. However, later uncorroborated reports from the Imperial Government on March 25 stated that the rebels had fled the island incognito to seek exile. There was no comment from the rebel government, but the Imperial Government spokesperson said that the invasion troops had been told to look for him and were conducting house to house searches.

With the island firmly in the hands of the Emerald Jaguar, the island of Hoalepa became the latest addition to the emperor’s long list of titles, becoming the 32nd state of the Empire. The emperor has appointed Geraldo Antônio Miotto, a General and member of the Army High Command, as Viceroy of Hoalepa and has charged him with the daunting task of incorporating the new territory into hulking system of the Empire. Reports state that while no Árvorese soldier was killed or wounded, at least three rebels have been confirmed dead with ten injured and 100 arrested.

As part of the operation, the island will be placed under martial law and all forms of entry into the island will be barred and refused without compromise. To police this, the Imperiais Árvorese Marinha will be placing the aircraft carrier NAI Divindade (operating in the waterways between the Hoalepa and Aislada), the Horizonte-class air-defence destroyer Álvaro Alberto da Motta e Silva, the Bento Costa Lima-class air-defence destroyers Júlio César de Noronha and Frederico Mariath, the Batista-class general-purpose frigates Rodrigo Pinto Guedes and Isaías de Noronha, the Batista-class anti-submarine frigates Cavalaria and Alpinista, the Vento-class anti-submarine frigate Zéfiro, and eleven auxiliary ships from replenishment oilers to tugboats to enforce this temporary blockade.
Glória a Deus!
