Lets just go with nine seats then.

Nine sounds good to me

The Truthful Fact Act:
- The intention of The Truthful Fact Act is to eliminate the use of slanderous statements without evidence proving such slanderous statements true.

I. Definition
- A slanderous statement is a statement discrediting or causing some form of harm to another individual.

II. Proof
- When an individual makes a slanderous statement, the individual must provide proof of validity next to or below the slanderous statement, in parentheses.

III. Consequences
- If an individual makes a slanderous statement without providing proof of validity then the individual may face harsh penalties. The penalty will be decided by the Delegate based on the severity, the Delegate will have three options to choose from.

1. A one week exile to the Death Star, to contemplate on the crime committed.

2. Removal from any government positions the individual holds permanently, for a week, or for any amount of time over a day that the Delegate decides on.

3. Banishment from New York permanently, or for over a month; the Delegate will be the decider.

- In conclusion, The Truthful Fact Act will guarantee all malicious statements will be based in truth so that the common citizen shall not be led astray by slanderous lies of a malicious individual.

Well, let us put this new bill to a vote!

Feel free to make any suggestions on how to improve it.

I personally vote FOR it.

While I get the idea of the bill, I'm not for it. While bills like these can be good, I'm worried about possible misuse that can occur. To state my points:
I- I kind of feel that the definition is still too vague. It's supposed to guard against malicious ad hominem attacks amirite? Or does it also include mudslinging? If the definition is too vague, this bill can easily be abused in the wrong hands.
II- If this is about a serious issue, say spying for another region, as an example, just make it so proof is required. Quotes can be limiting sometimes. IMO, screenshots can work wonders.
III- This is where I'm really worried- you're giving the Delegate the power to banish or remove people from government positions, permanently at worst. If it comes to that, the offense must be pretty serious, and I would not want to see a Delegate misusing that. Perhaps include the Assembly somewhere here, so that not all power is concentrated in the Delegate's hands?

Hope this helps :)

Agreed, the bill has problems. However I am happy for executive authority to rest in the delegates hands. I'd like to see more authority wielded and agitators removed. Plus the founder is active and has displayed a long term commitment to NY and NS, the negative consequences are limited.

Every bill has problems, if this form of the bill does not pass then I will take suggestions and edit it so that it may. The negative consequences are very few in nature due to an active founder.

Yea I don't know about that bill..

Also I believe the majority has ruled in favor of 9 seats, so I believe we have our assembly elected.

I vote against this bill.

I'd file this under legal asshatery

I based it off of an American law from the 1800s ^_^ it is rather vague, I will try again at a later date with an altered form with your suggestions taken into account.
