Monkey Island Regional Message Board

On the Votes at hand, I am in favor of the liberation and really ambivalent toward the ban on leaded fuel.
What say you my fellow connoisseurs of hot monkey sex?

Totally missed the f in night shift.

Yes. Hot Monkey Sex is the classification whenever it is greater than 8 degrees. Then you're just a couple of monkeys screwing around.

The Shrine offers to help our neighbors invest in effective electric cars. Let the EV-1 serve as a good prototype!

We firmly support the proposed ban on leaded fuel.

As for the liberation, I am also in favor. Sounds like it'll be fun to open the place up to more WA action, since they claim the "Founders" and "Government Officials" of the region have defected to The Eternal Knights.

for the moment then I will vote in favor.

Sorry that I'm falling behind on getting the resolutions up that are at vote. *blushes* I'll be better, I promise! I can post up the At Votes now, if we want, but the At Votes are already almost half-over. :-\

... Thoughts?

Repeal of the most recent Liberation is near quorum, with a likely At Vote on Tuesday's Minor Update, I'd think. (Currently 9 approvals away from quorum.)

I am opposed to the repeal. The natives called for the liberation, they were invaded and abused. Tack onto that the fact that I have been bombarded with competing telegrams on the issue makes me want to put the matter to bed for a time. The raid itself cannot be justified, nor can the vitriol I have been witness to since.

I guess I keep going back to this part of the original Liberation:
Recalling that Coalition of Freedom was placed under the authority of The Eternal Knights after its Founder nation ceased to exist, and that the regional population of Coalition of Freedom has begun the process of merging with The Eternal Knights;
If the regional population is merging with another region, why does it matter if it was raided? The region is becoming TEK instead of being CoF, is it not?

I didn't think a Liberation was necessary in the first place, which is why I was against the original. To be fair, I didn't (and still don't) really care much if the region itself is Liberated or not; however, the fact that Rifty thinks that he can spam all the WA nations as much as he wants to get them to do what he wants makes me want to act contrary to his preferred outcome.

The Shrine also opposes the reveal, if only because we want to [strike]watch the world burn[/strike] support the assertion that the raid in question cannot be justified. Yes, the debate is a mess on both sides. Yes, accepting the repeal does assert the idea that the liberation was kind of unnecessary and silly in the first place, but keeping the region liberated at least brings the possibility for more sensible people to clean this big smelly mess.
