Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Empire of Mengjiang is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Genghis Khan of Mengjiang with an iron fist, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 9.471 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Mengjiang City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 93%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Information Technology.

A large percentage of the poor live from cradle to grave in subterranean wage slavery, tourists need only sign on the dotted line to become citizens, cars speed down national highways while drivers sleep at the wheel, and rag-wearing teachers are often mistaken for homeless people. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Mengjiang's national animal is the Great White Horse, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Tibetan Buddhism, and its currency is the Mengjiang Dollar.

Mengjiang is ranked 3rd in Asia Pacific Economic Group and 65,652nd in the world for Most Politically Free, scoring 30 on the Diebold Election Inking Scale.
