Endorsement Limit Information

Endorsement Limit Information for Osiris

By now you've probably noticed that the World Factbook Entry mentions endorsement limits. This is a quick guide on how those limits work, why they are the way they are, what will happen if you exceed your designated limit, and how you can lower your endorsement count if you exceed your designated limit.

What is the General Endorsement Limit?

General Endorsement Limit: 10

The General Endorsement Limit is the limit that applies to all WA nations in Osiris that are not endorsing the Pharaoh. Residents who are not endorsing the Pharaoh are asked not to exceed this limit to safeguard regional security.

Osiris has a General Endorsement Limit because it is impossible to know if a WA nation in Osiris is truly an Osiran resident living here in good faith, or the puppet of a foreign invading force that intends to usurp our regional World Assembly Delegacy and take control of the region. The Delegate is elected according to who has the most endorsements when Osiris updates twice per day, so without an endorsement limit it would be easier for an invading force to take our Delegacy with support from foreign forces moving into the region at one of these updates. The higher a nation's endorsement count, the more regional influence it accumulates at a faster rate, which can make an invading nation difficult or even impossible to eject and ban if it has accumulated too much regional influence. An invading nation that takes the regional Delegacy will also be able to eject and ban more residents with a higher level of regional influence.

Without the General Endorsement Limit, Osiris would be far less secure, and much more vulnerable to an invasion by foreign forces intent on damaging our region and ejecting native residents. We appreciate the cooperation of our residents in respecting the General Endorsement Limit.

What is the Contributor Endorsement Limit?

Contributor Endorsement Limit: 50

The Contributor Endorsement Limit is the limit that applies to all WA nations in Osiris that are endorsing the Pharaoh, except the Heir Apparent and Guardians, who have higher limits as detailed below.

Residents who endorse the Pharaoh contribute to regional security by increasing the Pharaoh's endorsement count, which makes an invasion more difficult. Increasing the Pharaoh's endorsement count also increases the rate at which the Pharaoh gains regional influence, empowering the Pharaoh to eject and ban threats to regional security and making it more difficult for an invading force to eject or ban the Pharaoh in the event of a successful invasion. Because of their contributions to regional security, residents endorsing the Pharaoh are permitted a higher endorsement limit than residents who are not endorsing the Pharaoh.

What is the Endorsement Limit for Guardians?

Guardian Endorsement Limit: 150

Guardians are appointed by the Pharaoh and confirmed by the Council of Scribes, our all-citizen legislature, to assist in ensuring regional security. They are for this reason allowed an endorsement limit that is higher than the limits designated for other residents of Osiris.

Guardians are permitted a higher endorsement limit so that they will be prepared to take the Delegacy in the event of a regional emergency, and so that they can accumulate a high enough level of regional influence to be able to eject and ban threats to Osiris.

What is the Endorsement Limit for the Heir Apparent?

Heir Apparent Endorsement Limit: 180

The Heir Apparent is appointed by the Pharaoh and confirmed by the Council of Scribes, our all-citizen legislature, with the concurrence of the Council of Guardians, our regional security council. The Heir Apparent is the Vice Delegate of Osiris, serves as Acting Pharaoh in the Pharaoh's absence, and will succeed the Pharaoh upon his eventual abdication. The Heir Apparent is for this reason allowed the second most endorsements in Osiris.

The Heir Apparent is permitted a higher endorsement limit so that he will be prepared to take the Delegacy in the event of a regional emergency, to execute his duties as Acting Pharaoh in the Pharaoh's absence, and to safely take the Delegacy upon succeeding to the office of Pharaoh. The Heir Apparent is also permitted a higher endorsement limit so that he can accumulate a high enough level of regional influence to be able to eject and ban threats to Osiris.

What Happens if I Exceed an Endorsement Limit?

If you exceed your designated endorsement limit in such a way that is determined threatening to the Delegacy of Osiris, you may be ejected and banned without prior warning.

If you accidentally exceed your endorsement limit and it doesn't pose an immediate threat to Osiris, you will receive a telegram informing you that you have exceeded your endorsement limit and asking you to take corrective measures. If corrective measures are not taken within two days, you will be ejected from Osiris for the purpose of removing your endorsements.

If you are only ejected from Osiris, you can return to Osiris after the next game update. The Pharaoh will inform you by telegram when you can safely return. If you return before the next game update you will be ejected and banned from Osiris for a period of time determined reasonable by the Pharaoh.

If your nation has a high level of regional influence, the Pharaoh may eject and ban you from Osiris and ask you to temporarily move a new nation into Osiris. The higher a nation's regional influence, the more regional influence it costs the Pharaoh to eject and ban that nation. If a nation's influence is high enough that ejecting it more than once would significantly reduce the Pharaoh's influence, the nation will remain banned long enough to reduce its influence to a safer level.

How Do I Lower My Endorsement Count?

If you need to reduce your endorsement count, you can do that through one of three methods:

1. You can telegram nations endorsing you and ask them to withdraw their endorsements.
2. You can temporarily move out of the region and move back after the next game update, which will completely remove your endorsements.
3. You can resign from the WA until after the next game update, which will completely remove your endorsements.

If you have sent telegrams to nations endorsing you asking them to withdraw their endorsements, you may ask the Pharaoh for an extension to allow more time for withdrawal of endorsements. Such requests will be considered on a case by case basis.

If you need to know when the next game update is, don't hesitate to ask the Pharaoh by telegram or ask on the RMB. Generally speaking, game updates occur between 00:00-01:30 and 12:00-13:30 EDT.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in compliance with endorsement limits. The regional government will not send telegrams asking nations endorsing you to withdraw their endorsements. You will be ejected if you do not take action within two days after being warned of an endorsement limit violation, or earlier if you are deemed an immediate threat.
