Security Council Resolutions

Since the rise of the World Assembly from the ashes of its predecessor, the Bureaucracy That Cannot Be Named, WA member nations have worked tirelessly to improve the standard of the world. That, or tried to force other nations to be more like them. But that's just semantics.

Below is every World Assembly resolution ever passed.

Commend The Featured Region Followers

A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region.

Category: Commendation

Nominee: The Featured Region Followers

Proposed by: Paffnia

Description: The World Assembly,

NOTING that each day, one region is “featured,” whereby its World Factbook Entry is widely publicized among all nations.

APPLAUDING The Featured Region Followers, whose members tirelessly travel to the featured region, leaving personalized congratulatory messages for its residents on the Regional Message Board,

HONORING The Featured Region Followers for nobly doing this valuable service for over five years,

OBSERVING that the messages left by members of The Featured Region Followers are not meant as advertisements for their own region, nor are they tied to a specific religion or belief, but are instead simple and sincere expressions of congratulation,

APPRECIATING the fact that the contents of the World Factbook Entries of many featured regions are preserved on the Regional Message Board of The Featured Region Followers, thereby creating a historical record of said regions on the day they were featured,

PRAISING the dialogue, socialization, and gift exchanges that occur frequently when members of The Featured Region Followers arrive, often resulting in increased activity within the region,

RECOGNIZING that the dedication and friendliness of The Featured Region Followers exemplify the Security Council's goal of “spreading interregional peace and goodwill,”

SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION # 94

Repeal "Liberate Benevolent Capitalism"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: SC#92

Proposed by: Skyrim Diplomacy

Description: WA Security Council Resolution #92: Liberate Benevolent Capitalism shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The Security Council,

RECOGNIZING the intent of SC#92 to remove the raider-imposed password blocking entrance to Benevolent Capitalism and restore the region to the native nations,

APPLAUDING that SC#92 has achieved this goal and removed the password from Benevolent Capitalism, allowing the rightful inhabitants of the region to return and reclaim power in the region,

FEARING, however, that allowing SC#92 to stand will only pose a threat to Benevolent Capitalism and the natives within in the future by disallowing the natives to impose a password for safety,

AFFIRMING that the natives of Benevolent Capitalism wish to see SC#92 struck down,

HEREBY REPEALS SC#92, Liberate Benevolent Capitalism.

Votes For: 6,362 (72%)
Votes Against: 2,438 (28%)

Implemented: Wed Jul 11 2012

SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION # 95

Liberate Christmas

A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region.

Category: Liberation

Nominee (region): Christmas

Proposed by: Mahaj wa seat

Description: The Security Council,

NOTING that the region of Christmas was raided by forces of Asgard, The New Inquisition, and The Land Of Kings and Emperors on July 4th, 2012;

AWARE that Christmas is a region which many people treasure due to its special name;

RECOGNIZING that while the native community in Christmas was not large and has been forcibly removed, it is still deserving of the basic rights of freedom of movement and to be free from external governance;

DISAPPOINTED by the stated goals of Asgard, which are to refound the region and keep it as a colony;

BELIEVING that the Security Council must act swifly to protect Christmas from being stolen and kept as a colony;

HEREBY Liberates Christmas.

Votes Against: 4,040 (42%)

SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION # 96

Repeal "Condemn Kalasparata"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: SC#42

Proposed by: Milograd

Description: WA Security Council Resolution #42: Condemn Kalasparata shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: THE SECURITY COUNCIL,

RECOGNIZING that Kalasparata was condemned for being a threat to global peace, for disregarding human life, and for wantonly utilizing weapons of mass destruction,

ACKNOWLEDGING that the nation of Kalasparata ceased to exist after the World Assembly Security Council condemned it, and thus can no longer commit human rights violations, recklessly use weapons of mass destruction, or exist as a threat to global peace,

NOTING that, contrary to what Security Council Resolution #42 states, Kalasparata was never truly a formidable threat, insofar as its military and strategic arsenal was rather small in comparison to many of the world's nations,

FURTHER NOTING that the validity of the claims regarding Kalasparata's human rights violations and the scale of them are questionable, since these reports were often not confirmed by outside sources or made elsewhere other than in arguably biased factbooks and articles concerning national information,

REALIZING that the condemnation of Kalasparata fails to acknowledge the many positive aspects of Kalasparata's society, such as the fact that the government was fairly liberal and democratic,

BELIEVING that resolutions that are outdated, misleading and superfluous deserve to be repealed,

HEREBY REPEALS the condemnation of Kalasparata.
