The Kingdom of Zxortanites is a colossal, safe nation, renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 7.421 billion Zxortanitesians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Law & Order and Defence are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Zxortanites City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 3%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Several citizens have complained about scientists abducting their pets for experimentation, the nation's train stations are widely considered to be the ugliest in The International Radiated Wasteland, the government seizes all major gold finds, and the nation is experiencing a severe shortage of sporting events. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Zxortanites's national animal is the wingless eagle, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the zxort.

Zxortanites is ranked 2nd in The International Radiated Wasteland and 119,731st in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring -17 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
