The Holy Empire State of Zerragon is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by King Mufasa I with an even hand, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate population of 2.312 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Khalifa. The average income tax rate is 71%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Furniture Restoration.

Crowds of flag-burning protesters tend to accidentally become crowds of burning protesters, dog breeding has been banned in accordance with recent animal experimentation laws, welfare funding has recently gone through the roof, and the welfare administration's new sweeping authority has forced the poor and needy to shop from pre-approved grocery lists. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Zerragon's national animal is the Lion, its national religion is Roman Catholic and Rastafari, and its currency is the Shackel.

Zerragon is ranked 7th in The New Commonwealth Society and 31,690th in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 150 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
