The Theocratic Paradise of Zaklen is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Peter Zyvex with an iron fist, and remarkable for its prohibition of alcohol. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.101 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Defence, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Zakopolis. The average income tax rate is 99%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Arms Manufacturing.

Citizens are barcoded to keep track of their movements, the recently unemployed can often be seen at the local homeless shelter, Zaklen has one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world, and Zaklen has been recently classified as an international menace after 'liberating' several nearby territories. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Zaklen's national animal is the Snow Leopard, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Zaklenite Christianity, and its currency is the Grace.

Zaklen is ranked 1st in Zaklenite Territories and 1,607th in the world for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring 164 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
