The Federation of Zagornias is a massive, safe nation, ruled by President Wilhelm vi Zagornias with an even hand, and remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.545 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kardona. The average income tax rate is 24%, but much higher for the wealthy. A robust private sector is led by the Woodchip Exports industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Retail.

The police force is on a recruitment drive, Zagornias has designated Kardona as its capital city, scenic mountain valleys are flooded with water as damming projects get underway, and President Wilhelm vi Zagornias has just been declared ruler of Zagornias in an international press conference. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Zagornias's national animal is the Zagornian Penguin, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Kider.

Zagornias is ranked 124th in The Commonwealth of Crowns and 102,257th in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring -2 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
