The Kingdom of Yutio is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its restrictive gun laws. Its hard-nosed population of 976 million are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, moralistic, socially-minded morass -- concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Education and Defence are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 41%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Information Technology.

Elections have been outlawed, euthanasia is illegal, the government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid, and Yutio's educational system is the envy of many and regarded as a pinnacle of academic achievement. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Yutio's national animal is the frog, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the pound sterling.
