The Empire of Ying-Yang is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Emperor Le with an iron fist, and notable for its national health service. Its compassionate, cynical population of 2.639 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Saigon. The average income tax rate is 79%, and even higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Factories are regularly demolished to make way for low-cost housing areas, citizens are expected to be proficient in at least five languages, strict term limits have been applied to all elected offices, and voters must frequently select what they view as the lesser of two evils on the ballot. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ying-Yang's national animal is the Dragon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Buddhism, and its currency is the Ying-Yang Bom.

Ying-Yang is ranked 349th in Lazarus and 12,032nd in the world for Most Influential, scoring 34 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
