The Empire of Yeses is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by President with an even hand, and notable for its happy-go-lucky citizens. Its hard-nosed population of 12.691 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Yeses City. The average income tax rate is 63%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

All tariffs have been abolished, teenagers across the country are celebrating the defeat of a national curfew bill, there have been sightings of people walking around dressed in nothing but leopard-skin g-strings for 'religious reasons', and citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Yeses's national animal is the ant, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the colony dollar.
