OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Socialist Republic of Yertania is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Populist Leader with an even hand, and notable for its happy-go-lucky citizens. The hard-nosed, intelligent population of 15.73 billion Yertanians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Religion & Spirituality, with areas such as Social Equality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Minsk Forest. The average income tax rate is 55%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

The government struggles to keep up with the endless list of petrol disasters, surrealist houses shaped like mushrooms and volcanoes dominate the wealthiest neighborhoods, the bonfire of the old paper records can be seen for miles around Minsk Forest, and only 'organics' are permitted to be citizens. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Yertania's national animal is the big social security check, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the silver coin.

Yertania is ranked 2nd in Byelorussian Ssr and 63,504th in the world for Most Extensive Civil Rights, with 54 Martin Luther King, Jr. Units.
