The Great Revolutionary Republic of Yazlandia is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Lord President Yaz with a fair hand, and remarkable for its happy-go-lucky citizens. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 7.47 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded individuals juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Yaztown. Income tax is unheard of. A large private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Abortions are routinely performed in Yazlandia's hospitals, clowns are being rounded up and admitted to mental institutions, graffiti graces every city's streets, and violently opinionated speakers can be heard preaching their hateful views on every street corner. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Yazlandia's national animal is the Jackal, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Money.

Yazlandia is ranked 209th in Democratic Socialist Assembly and 129,960th in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring -11 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
