The Libertarian Socialist Tao of Wu Wei Shan is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by the people with a fair hand, and remarkable for its restrictive gun laws. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 3.452 billion love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Defence and Law & Order receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of All-Under-Heaven. The average income tax rate is 99%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Most citizens in Wu Wei Shan are abject pyrophobes after extremely graphic pamphlets were mailed nationwide by the government, elevator music has been replaced by thrash metal played at maximum volume, students in Wu Wei Shan's schools rarely attend their classes, and tombstones are ten feet high to accommodate the names of inhabitants. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a major problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Wu Wei Shan's national animal is the Jade Dragon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Taoism, and its currency is the Labor Hour.

Wu Wei Shan is ranked 2nd in United Peoples Front for Socialism and 617th in the world for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring 259 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
