The Confederacy of World Union States is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Robert Lupos with an even hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 4.328 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Rome. The average income tax rate is 57%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Furniture Restoration.

The government has enacted freedom of information, shanty towns are forming in the suburbs of major cities, protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, and all tariffs have been abolished. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. World Union States's national animal is the Wolf, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the euro.
