The Fascist anarchistic state of Wine land is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Miles Raymond with a fair hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 3.995 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal individuals concentrates mainly on Education, although the Environment and Healthcare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Pinotville. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Gambling and Tourism.

The capital of Wine land has burned to the ground and caused riots throughout the country, almost half of the child population live rough on the streets, people are now classified as male, female, or genderqueer, and almost all of Wine land's water is piped into the country from abroad for exorbitant prices. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Wine land's national animal is the sloth, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the grand dollar.
