The Lunar Republic of Wilgrove is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 12.411 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Education and Healthcare are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 52%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Book Publishing and Gambling.

Re-education centers are being added to most prisons, organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region, the commercialisation of highly deadly weapons has instilled Wilgrove with a very polite populace, and drunk drivers are sent to rehabilitation paid for by the government. Crime is crippling. Wilgrove's national animal is the deer, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the credit card.
