The Prosperous Plutocracy of Wickermerix is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by Doctor Collossus with an iron fist, and notable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 9.833 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals is effectively ruled by the Department of Commerce, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Wickermerix City. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Information Technology.

Door-to-door salesmen are frequently beaten up by 'vigilantes', the government recently relinquished its monopoly on the mail service, several citizens have complained about scientists abducting their pets for experimentation, and the government is a law unto itself. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Wickermerix's national animal is the Esquilax, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Wix.
