Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.531 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Oured. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

Citizens are regularly found digging for treasure in their gardens, X-Files ratings have hit an all-time low, the mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas, and citizens may cast their vote over the internet or phone. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Whamabama's national animal is the bearded clam, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Equiliant.
