The Capitalistic Cities of Western Borderlands is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Byrin Alcado with an even hand, and remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.682 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The enormous, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Defence, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Golden Bridge. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 16%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining, Arms Manufacturing, and Retail industries.

Fur coats have become the latest fashion trend, the nation has recently been attributed to the funding of terrorist organisations, radio shows frequently feature people denouncing religion, and citizens simply have to point a weapon at a government official to get what they want. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem. Western Borderlands's national animal is the Phoenix, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Loni.

Western Borderlands is ranked 1,828th in 10000 Islands and 101,217th in the world for Most Pacifist, scoring -88 on the Lennon-Springsteen Scale.
