The Non-constitutional Monarchy of West Cheshire is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Queen Moira Tomlinson I with an even hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed population of 1.031 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Chester. The average income tax rate is 83%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

The space program has been scrapped in order to focus on more terrestrial pursuits, all news sources are under strict government control, welfare funding has recently gone through the roof, and it is illegal for police officers to carry out searches due to strict privacy laws. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. West Cheshire's national animal is the Burger Cat, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Yen Sterling.

West Cheshire is ranked 446th in Europe and 96,573rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -28 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
