The Kingdom of Wastlandish is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Leader with an iron fist, and remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 2.506 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, moralistic government is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Defence and the Environment are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 18%. A healthy private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Tourism.

There's a shortage of swinging hot spots as land development grinds to a halt, councils up and down the country wrangle over legal matters, the commercialisation of highly deadly weapons has instilled Wastlandish with a very polite populace, and Leader has been self-declared as the Most Supreme Magnificent Overlord of Everything You Ever Saw. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate. Wastlandish's national animal is the lizard, and its currency is the cryton.
