Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 10.47 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and the Environment. The average income tax rate is 45%, but much higher for the wealthy. A robust private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

Genetic research is temporarily tied up in government red tape, students are known to arrive at school in their pyjamas, every citizen must submit to DNA testing to be eliminated from police inquiries, and citizens are expected to be proficient in at least five languages. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Wanderluv's national animal is the bunny, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the dollar.
