Its compassionate, hard-working population of 1.567 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Gotham City. The average income tax rate is 66%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Soda Sales.

Teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, the judicial branch is strongly influenced by major corporations, citizens are forced to donate blood once every three months, and wealthy parents-to-be can select their perfect baby. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Vorskov's national animal is the Bat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Kyra.
