The Empire of Vereintes Europa is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Emperor with an even hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.485 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Reichsburg. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 57%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling, Arms Manufacturing, and Information Technology industries.

The government regularly hires contractors to construct high rise apartments, local executives are seen on the corner with cardboard signs reading "will oppress the masses for food", senior citizens can usually be found doing heavy manual labour, and psychological disorders are a taboo subject. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Vereintes Europa's national animal is the Scorpion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Euro.

Vereintes Europa is ranked 80th in the South Pacific and 3,752nd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 19 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
