The Holy College Temple of Vanbrugh is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Johanne D McFlurry II with an even hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its compassionate population of 3.335 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Social Welfare and Healthcare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of JCR Headquarters. The average income tax rate is 94%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Libraries are now installed with jacuzzis and mini-bars, many working fathers have never seen their children, only fully-fledged members of MENSA are allowed to vote, and muscular women are banned from competing in sporting competitions. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Vanbrugh's national animal is the orangutan, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Anglican, and its currency is the dollarpound.

Vanbrugh is ranked 459th in Europe and 97,323rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -30 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
