The Holy Imperium of Urarail is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Kenny La Flama Blanca Powers with an even hand, and notable for its parental licensing program. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.247 billion are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Sudentor. The average income tax rate is 99%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

The mob and the police have recently had numerous clashes in the back alleys of Urarail's cities due to the government's steadfast anti-casino stance, naturists are jailed regularly for indecent exposure, the nation is reliant on the principle of mutually assured destruction to maintain its security, and citizens are allowed to rise or fall based on their own merits. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Urarail's national animal is the Northern Grand Dragon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is the Imperial Truth and Faith, and its currency is the Soldus.

Urarail is ranked 4th in Tetrakon and 1,983rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 29 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
