The Empire of United Hiberia is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Emperor Nepacifist with an iron fist, and remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 2.37 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The enormous, corrupt government devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Hiberia DC. The average income tax rate is 14%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Gambling.

Ethnic minorities are often refused admission to some of the nation's best schools, United Hiberia's army is full of two-metre tall super-soldiers, a typical fast food menu item could serve a small army, and new safety regulations require all cars manufactured in United Hiberia to be bombproof. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. United Hiberia's national animal is the Dragon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Hiberial.

United Hiberia is ranked 132nd in The North Pacific and 5,109th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 14 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
