The Empire of United Gordonopia is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by Emperor William Raleigh VII with an even hand, and remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 6.715 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt, pro-business morass -- concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Healthcare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Gordonopia City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 26%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining, Woodchip Exports, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

The government has cut its subsidies for all special interest groups, pristine wilderness has been trashed in the quest for cheaper oil, Falcons with strange deformities like three eyes and tentacles have been seen prancing through the countryside where industrial waste is dumped, and employers may fire workers without giving any reason. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. United Gordonopia's national animal is the Falcon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Dollar.

United Gordonopia is ranked 24th in Greater Dienstad and 11,576th in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 3 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
