The Democratic Social Provinces of United Federation of Canada is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Prime Minister Jack Layston with an even hand, and renowned for its irreverence towards religion. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.301 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Social Equality, and Social Welfare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Edmonton. The average income tax rate is 48%, but much higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, the nation's infamous boot camp is more brutal than most battlefields, guns are banned, and eight out of ten children believe hard lemonade gives you cirrhosis of the liver. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. United Federation of Canada's national animal is the Furry Beaver, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Jedism, and its currency is the Dollar.

United Federation of Canada is ranked 143rd in Democratic Socialist Assembly and 118,555th in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring -4 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
