The Parliamentary Commonwealth of Unchagah is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Lawrence Eader with an even hand, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 19.446 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Unchagah City. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

The mob and the police have recently had numerous clashes in the back alleys of Unchagah's cities due to the government's steadfast anti-casino stance, postmen have been arrested in job lots for selling junk mail as home insulation, high-income earners pay a 100% tax rate, and the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Unchagah's national animal is the trumpeter swan, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the Unchagan Dollar.

Unchagah is ranked 5th in Eagleland and 101,148th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -61 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
