The Sovereign Principality of Tyrconnel is a massive, safe nation, ruled by The Ó Donnell with a fair hand, and renowned for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.485 billion love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Social Equality and Social Welfare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Donegal. The average income tax rate is 91%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Skateparks can be found in every city, multiple polls have christened the newly-formed Filibuster Committee as "the least efficient government bureaucracy", the new hit series "Tyrconnel's Got Trauma" has corporate executives fleeing the country, and students in Tyrconnel's schools rarely attend their classes. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tyrconnel's national animal is the stag, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the punt Éireannach.

Tyrconnel is ranked 31st in Ireland and 94,263rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -25 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
