The Barony of Twin Moons is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by the Baron with an iron fist, and remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 8.444 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Religion & Spirituality, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 74%, and even higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

There has been a series of riots between local cannibals and health food advocates, large areas of Twin Moons are not accessible by the public, citizens are expected to be proficient in at least five languages, and people caught mistreating Twin Moons's flag generally wind up in a great deal of pain. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Twin Moons's national animal is the Elf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the gold piece.

Twin Moons is ranked 81st in Equilism and 92,271st in the world for Most Rebellious Youth, scoring -21 on the Stark-Dean Displacement Index.
