A well-funded social safety net protects the unfortunate, the nation is currently revamping its entire education system, roads are often attended by round-the-clock construction crews, and schools have extensive counseling programs for troubled students. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Turis's national animal is the ris, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Polar Globe.

Turis is ranked 8th in Antarctica and 2,299th in the world for Most Influential, scoring 93 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
