The Federation of Traillopia is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Chairman Mehmed Ayari with an even hand, and remarkable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 4.152 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Terhendaim. The average income tax rate is 98%. A substantial private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Army rations are served on silver platters, a new generation of aquariumless hotels are being built under government supervision, all footpaths have tollbooths, and priests are being drafted by the church load. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Traillopia's national animal is the fox, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Pentecostal Apostolicism, and its currency is the Traillopian mark.
