It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tookville City. The average income tax rate is 35%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

There's a shortage of swinging hot spots as land development grinds to a halt, parents live in fear of governmental 'child protection' squads, Tookville's market has been colonised by the corporations of rich countries, and recent protests against birds flying too low have resulted in bloodshed. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tookville's national animal is the Fox, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the Albusolus.
