The Dominion of Tontala is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by the First Citizen with an even hand, and renowned for its ban on automobiles. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.546 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Law & Order receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tontalopolis. The average income tax rate is 19%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Information Technology and Uranium Mining.

The nation has recently been attributed to the funding of terrorist organisations, the "Underwear of Women in Power" issue of The Tontalopolis Times is sold out, CEOs and corporate executives are frequently found striking for better stock options, and the dead are minced up and sold to people in burger form. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Tontala's national animal is the buck, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is the Cult of the First Citizen, and its currency is the buck.

Tontala is ranked 1,334th in the Rejected Realms and 93,545th in the world for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring -191 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
