OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Urmel Island of Titiwu is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by Seelefant with a fair hand, and renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 15.268 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although the Environment and Social Equality are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 53%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Prison visits increase substantially during election years, surrealist houses shaped like mushrooms and volcanoes dominate the wealthiest neighborhoods, a large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, and an increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is pervasive, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Titiwu's national animal is the Urmel, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the sea shell.

Titiwu is ranked 2nd in Haiku and 1,235th in the world for Most Politically Apathetic Citizens, with 74 Whatever.
