OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Urmel Island of Titiwu is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Seelefant with a fair hand, and notable for its ban on automobiles, keen interest in outer space, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, democratic, cheerful population of 17.002 billion Titiwuans hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, outspoken government prioritizes Education, although Environment, Social Policy, and Welfare are also considered important, while Defense and Spirituality receive no funds. The average income tax rate is 82.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The large but stagnant Titiwuan economy, worth 196 trillion sea shells a year, is highly specialized and mostly made up of the Book Publishing industry, with significant contributions from Tourism and Basket Weaving. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 11,570 sea shells, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Illegal hunting is rife after veganism was recently made compulsory, the arms industry has been shut down in a surge of pacifism, schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, and organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region. Crime is relatively low. Titiwu's national animal is the Urmel, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Titiwu is ranked 5th in Haiku and 38,137th in the world for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 86 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
