OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Urmel Island of Titiwu is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Seelefant with a fair hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. The compassionate, intelligent population of 16.083 billion Titiwuans hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although the Environment and Social Equality are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 62%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Radio shows frequently feature people denouncing religion, truth is often impossible to tell from fiction on the evening news, there's a shortage of swinging hot spots as land development grinds to a halt, and there is a dearth of space for new houses. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Titiwu's national animal is the Urmel, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the sea shell.

Titiwu is ranked 11th in Haiku and 112,331st in the world for Rudest Citizens, with -395.3 Insults Per Minute (net).
