OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Urmel Island of Titiwu is a gargantuan, genial nation, ruled by Seelefant with a fair hand, and renowned for its compulsory vegetarianism. The compassionate, intelligent population of 15.89 billion Titiwuans enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although the Environment and Social Equality are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 63%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

People are moving into treehouses in record numbers, anti-government web sites are springing up, the Titiwu Enquirer offers weekly cash prizes for 'most blasphemous song, story, or cartoon', and it is illegal for police officers to carry out searches due to strict privacy laws. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Titiwu's national animal is the Urmel, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the sea shell.

Titiwu is ranked 2nd in Haiku and 262nd in the world for Best Weather, with 881 Metres of Sunlight Above Expected.
