The Republic of Tisotto is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Alistair Bibby with an even hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 2.242 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bibbygrad. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 75%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Arms Manufacturing.

Animal Liberationists are regularly jailed, wealthy students ride to school past mendicant dropouts, the state has declared war on the environment and environmentalists by association, and record sales of 'child-whacking sticks' have been reported. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tisotto's national animal is the Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Pound .

Tisotto is ranked 7th in The Empire of United Nations and 76,569th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -16 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
