The Counties of Tir is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Count Idan with an even hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 19.91 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Education and Commerce are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tir City. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Information Technology and Automobile Manufacturing.

College students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, the government is notorious for leaving citizens with almost nothing from their inheritance, major cities shut down as their local sports team takes to the field every day, and the government has ordered a moratorium on referenda. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tir's national animal is the Trash Bear, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Big off wads of money.

Tir is ranked 56th in Greater Dienstad and 94,856th in the world for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring -458 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
