The Borderlands of Timoreas is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Sharpsworth VII with a fair hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 6.646 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and the Environment. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 25%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Citizens are permitted to carry concealed handguns, cyber-crime and tin-foil hat sales are both increasing at record rates, citizens select which government department gets their income tax doublets each year, and multiple polls have christened the newly-formed Filibuster Committee as "the least efficient government bureaucracy". Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Timoreas's national animal is the guinea pig, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the doublet.
