The Principality of Times-Square is a massive, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.207 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Commerce, and Education. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 1%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Information Technology, and Trout Farming industries.

The government is reining in public spending, voting is voluntary, citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes, and the police force is on a recruitment drive. Crime is pervasive. Times-Square's national animal is the Albino Sewer Alligator, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the dollar.

Times-Square is ranked 72nd in New York and 45,963rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -12 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
