The Hegemonic Empire of Thrashia is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Grand Admiral Thrawn with an iron fist, and remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 16.855 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bastion. The average income tax rate is 37%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Woodchip Exports.

Red Cross demand for body bags are rising while sutures are decreasing, university graduates and new home-owners toil in labour camps to work off their debts, schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, and the government has declared its commitment to multilateralism. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Thrashia's national animal is the Kebaros, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Imperial Credit.

Thrashia is ranked 1st in Star Wars Galaxy and 408th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 57 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
