The Theocracy of The Violet Empire is a huge, devout nation, notable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 743 million are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

The medium-sized, corrupt, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Religion & Spirituality, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Thane. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 17%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing.

Penurious citizens die from easily remedied ailments because they aren't 'taking enough initiative', citizens live in superstitious fear of the mysterious glowing clouds that float over The Violet Empire, much of The Violet Empire's computer network is controlled by a rampant artificial intelligence, and the government is a law unto itself. Crime is moderate. The Violet Empire's national animal is the lion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the bond.
