The Democratic Archipelago of The Tofu Islands is a colossal, genial nation, notable for its anti-smoking policies. It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Social Equality and the Environment are secondary priorities. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The Tofu Islands is notorious for its citizens' infidelity, most of the nation's wealthy aristocrats are dentists, space research funding has hit a recent high while several military bases are being closed down, and the government seizes the property of the recently deceased. Crime is totally unknown. The Tofu Islands's national animal is the axolotl, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the shilling.
