Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 3.647 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Social Equality, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Storm City. The average income tax rate is 92%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, referenda are held for every conceivable government action, anti-government web sites are springing up, and the government is pursuing a new programme aimed at promoting cultural sophistication. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The stormgod's national animal is the StormBird, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is the temple of the stormgod, and its currency is the Stormcell.

The stormgod is ranked 1,217th in the Rejected Realms and 95,598th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -27 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
